GET INVOLVED

Interested in getting involved with MCIV?  There are several ways that you can . . . home hospitality, home stays, Great Decisions, the International Film Festival or Magnificient 7 are just to name a few.  Not sure what each entails, read below.

Home Hospitality: In its simplest definition, home hospitality means to welcome someone into your home for a meal.

Home Stay: These build on home hospitality as they require that a guest stays overnight in your home.

Great Decisions: This event is coordinated by MCIV and Friends of the Bozeman Library by setting up discussion groups and providing knowledgeable, volunteer moderators. Local community members gather to discuss and debate the current issue after reading the monthly article published in the Great Decisions briefing book. The books are available for purchase or check out at the Bozeman Public Library.

Before the discussion, a 20-minute televised segment of the Great Decisions program will be shown that gives expert opinions about the topic at hand.  Great Decisions, the Foreign Policy Association’s Education program is a flagship educational program that was started in 1954.  Since then over 400,000 participants nationwide have benefited from the program.

International Film Festival: This event is coordinated by MCIV and others at Montana State University and runs for 5-6 weeks each Spring. Each film is selected for its ability to describe the human spirit in challenging times – across different cultures, different dilemmas; but same human emotions and responses.  Local experts help to facilitate a discussion after the viewing of each film.

Magnificient 7: One of MCIV’s annual fundraisers!  This event occurs each Fall and consists of seven nights of international cuisine in various MCIV members’ homes.  If you love tasting new dishes, joining in on exciting conversation and making new friends you won’t want to miss this!
