2011 PHOTO CONTEST

The Montana Center for International Visitors’  second annual photo contest is complete for 2011.  The winners are shown below.  Thank you to all who submitted photos.  Keep checking back as we’ll kick off another photo contest in 2012!   If you’d like to view the entry form, please click HERE.  The entry form for 2012 will be posted in the spring.

PHOTOS WERE JUDGED FOR:

1. Impact
2. Composition (including lighting, center of interest and color harmony)
3. Subject Matter representing a day in the life of a Montanan and/or Citizen Diplomacy which is the concept of average citizens engaging as representatives of a country or cause
4. Story Telling Ability

CASH AWARD:
$50 for each winner with four winners slated as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and People’s Choice.  People’s Choice judging will take place on the MCIV blog.

CONTEST ENTRY GUIDELINES:

  • All entries must be photographs taken by person submitting
  • Entries may be color or black and white
  • Entries must not exceed 8×10 in size
  • Entries may be submitted as JPEGs or physical prints to the MCIV Office
  • By submitting your photos to MCIV, you allow your image to be published on any MCIV websites, etc. Your photos may also appear on other websites – NCIV
  • If it can be possible to identify someone in your photo, you take full responsibility for his/her/their consent to be published by MCIV and other websites
  • You maintain the copyright on your photos submitted to MCIV
  • Please, no watermarks, signatures or frames
  • Entry must be in keeping with the MCIV’s image and may not be inappropriate or offensive, as determined by MCIV in its sole discretion, nor can it defame or invade publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s personal or property rights or any other third-party rights.
  • MCIV reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entry it deems to be offensive, inappropriate, that is not in keeping with MCIV’s image or that is otherwise not in compliance with the terms of these Official Guidelines.

Due date of photos - Photos are due to MCIV by August 31, 2011.

Who may enter the MCIV Photo Contest? Our online photo contest is open to photographers age 18 or older. Beginners, amateurs, aspiring and professional photographers are all welcome to enter. The photo contest is open to people in all countries except where contests are prohibited.

May I enter the photo contest online? Yes, you may enter your digital file photographs in JPEG format. Email your photo the same day as you fill out your entry form. We accept photos in JPEG format with a file size of 3MB or smaller, larger files are also accepted via CD.

How many photos may I enter? You may enter as often and as many photos as you like, as long as you follow the rules.
